WHAT'S THE BUZzz?

WHAT'S THE BUZzz?

 Here a buzz, there a buzz...everywere a buzz buzz.
Have you ever been stung by a bee?
I don't know about you, but I sure have. And let me tell you, that it is terrible.

It all hppened when i was i was cleaning my room. I opened the windows for some fresh air and in came the bee. It flew around my face, so i tried to swat it away. But to my surprise it stung me. That was a lesson well learned: attack a bee and it will definitly attack you back.
After the bee attacked me it moved round and round and then fell flat. I was astonished, and it got me thinking, why would such a thing happen?
I then learnt that, immidiatly after a bee stings a person it dies.

The bee that stung me was a bumblebee. The bee belongs to kingdom animalia, phylum arthpoda and class insecta. This species has over 250 species in the genus Bombus, part of Apidae, one of the bee families. Bumblebees are social insects that form colonies with a single queen. Bumblebees have round bodies covered in soft hair, long branched setae called 'pile', making them appear and feel fuzzy. They have aposematic coloration, often consisting of contrasting bands of colour, and in a region  different species of bumblebee often resemble each other.

Like their relatives the honeybees, bumblebees feed on nectar, using their long hairy tongues to lap up the liquid. Each nest has a queen, drones, and workers. The queen is the only one wo will lay eggs. The queen will retire after laying eggs.
Typically, bumblebees are found in temperate climates, and they are often found at higher altitudes and latitudes than the other bees, although some lowland tropical species exist.

After i was bitten my mother proceeded to rub tamrind on my hand where i got stung. But the situation got wrose soon after. They tried to remove stinger but failed. the tamrind only made it worse.
When stung by a bee the first thing is to remove the stinger via fingernail or with a knife towards the direction that you were bitten. then apply soap and water to it and not something like tamrind which is acidic, then visit a doctor. These are some of the things that are to be kept in mind whle dealing with bees.

Until next time.
